Brussel Based Filmmaker
Soroush Talaie is an Iranian film editor and filmmaker based in Brussels. Since 2018, he has worked professionally as an editor, shaping more than forty short narrative films as well as institutional and commercial video projects. His work spans fiction, documentary, and experimental cinema, reflecting a practice that moves fluidly between artistic exploration and commissioned production.
He holds a BA in Drama Directing from Islamic Azad University in Tehran and an MA in Audiovisual Arts from LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. His academic research examines editing within the long take, exploring how editorial thinking can operate beyond visible cuts, and how rhythm, time, and emotional perception can be shaped from within a continuous shot.
Alongside his independent practice, Soroush has worked as an assistant editor with acclaimed Iranian editor Hayedeh Safiyari, contributing to major feature film productions by filmmakers including Bahman Ghobadi, Hamid Nematollah, and Oktay Baraheni. He is also a member of the Iranian Cinema Editors Guild.
